Heidi Blanton, Teacher representative

My name is Heidi Blanton, and I am the teacher representative for the ARCAE PTA. I have the pleasure of communicating to our faculty all of the AMAZING things this group of volunteers does to make ARCAE the best! I am starting my 25th year of teaching and my 15th year as a Unicorn! I have two boys who benefited from so many arts integrated experiences. My oldest is now in college, and my youngest is in the 8th grade. Welcome to the new school year!

Nicole LoveccHio, PRESIDENT

Hi! I’m Nicole, the proud parent of a second grader and two kindergarteners at ARCAE. This is my first year serving as PTA President, and my goal is to help continue to foster a strong sense of community among ARCAE families. I work full-time for a non-profit that runs after-school programs in South Carolina and Georgia, helping children in under-resourced communities develop and enhance the skills they need to thrive. As both a parent and professional, I’ve seen firsthand the value of family involvement in schools, and I’m committed to helping every ARCAE family feel welcomed and connected. I’m always excited to meet new people, so please say hello—I’d love to get to know you! And if you’re interested in joining our mission to support the school that gives so much to our children every day, I’d love to connect.

Ruby Mcchesney, TreASURER

Hi, I’m Ruby McChesney and I’m the ARCAE PTA Treasurer. My daughter Naomi is in 1st grade and she loves being an ARCAE Unicorn. Naomi and I love riding bikes around our neighborhood, swimming, and a sunny day at the beach!  When I’m not at the school, I work for the Navy providing support to sailors and their families. I am passionate about volunteering and giving back to the community. I’m on the Board of Directors for the National Organization of Victim Advocacy and am a proud member of the Junior League of Charleston. I look forward to meeting more of you and finding great ways the PTA can support our school, teachers, and students!

Beth Ponton, Teacher appreciation cHAIR

Hi! I’m Beth Ponton and I have 2 children at ARCAE- a 3rd grader and 1st grader, as well as a 3-year-old who cannot wait to attend!  We have loved every minute of our experience as unicorns so far, and we are ready to give back. As a former Teacher, Teacher Appreciation is near and dear to my heart. Our Teachers pour so much into our children each and every day, and I’m honored to have the chance to show them a small token of our gratitude. I love getting to know fellow parents at the school and continuing to build community with our ARCAE family. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or just to say hello!

Jackie Richardson, Communications Secretary

Greetings, I am Jackie Richardson and I am the PTA Communications Secretary.  I have a son in 5th Grade and a daughter in Kindergarden at the School.  In my “spare time,” I work full-time as an Attorney/Partner at a Law Firm based in Pawleys Island, SC.  This is my 4th Year serving on the PTA Board and I continue to be absolutely amazed by how much the PTA contributes to ARCAE!  As a West Ashley native, it is truly a joy to help support this amazing School, Teachers, and Staff, and to interact with your lovely little humans.

hope reynolds, creative director & Spiritwear Chair

Hey guys! My name is Hope Reynolds and I am the PTA Creative Director & Spiritwear Chair.  I have two daughters currently at Ashley River - a 3rd grader and a 1st grader.  I also have a Daughter in 6th grade who is a proud Ashley River Alumna.  I’m a full-time travel agent and always on the go. In my spare time I love to paint, graphic design, do arts and crafts with my daughters and travel the world with my precious family!  This is my 3rd Year working with the PTA and I absolutely love the sense of community and family that this school embraces! I am honored to serve our teachers, staff and parents in any way possible.

Ann treat, membership chair

Hello!  My name is Ann Treat and I am excited to be serving the PTA as the membership chair this year.  I have two children at ARCAE (third and fifth).  While this is my first year on the PTA, I have been involved with school for the past three years as the Book Fair co-Chair, volunteering in the front office, attending violin lessons with my kids, and more recently substitute teaching!  Outside of ARCAE, I am a milliner and manage my Etsy Store, Charleston Hats, so I spend a lot of time designing and creating hats and fascinators.  I look forward to getting even more involved with the school and meeting lot's of families this year.

Morgan Wessel, sponsorship chair

Hello Unicorns! My name is Morgan Wessel and I am joining the PTA this year as the Sponsorship Chair. My husband, Toby, and I are passionate about our community. We have lived, worked and played in West Ashley for almost 20 years. He is a small business owner and we are proud PTA Sponsors. I look forward to creating meaningful Sponsorship Opportunities and to connecting. Together, we have four kids. Two are currently at the School, Caroline is in 5th grade and Rhodes is in 1st grade. I also have an ARCAE Alumna, Olivia, who is now in 6th grade. I also have a future unicorn who is 3 years old, Dottie. In my spare time, I play tennis, work at my church, and play with our new puppy, Sam.

Katie jones, Community engagement Co-chair

Hi friends! My name is Katie Jones, and I am the mom of 4 kiddos - two currently at ARCAE in Second grade and Kindergarten. I also have one in 6th grade and one in 10th grade who are both Ashley River alumni. I am also a very proud Ashley River Creative Arts Alumna. I have so many great memories from my time at Ashley River and my hope is that my kids, along with all current and future students can leave the school with the same sentiment. This is my first year co-chairing the Community Engagement Committee and I am so excited to get started planning fun, community events for our school family to enjoy together! When I am not doing mom things, I work part-time as an Antepartum Registered Nurse at MUSC. In my free time, I love being outside with my family -  at the beach, on the water, in the yard, whatever we can get into together. I am looking forward to meeting more amazing ARCAE families this year!

Elizabeth Hill, Community engagement Co-chair

Hi!  I am Elizabeth, the mom of two amazing kiddos here at Ashley River.  They are currently in first and third grades.  I am also an ARCAE alumna and truly love our school!  I am beyond thankful for the experiences I had while attending Ashley River that helped provide a strong foundation and shape the person I am today.  I am hoping we can continue to provide and build on these experiences for our children, so they will have the same memories during their time here. This year, I am excited to be a co-chair of the Community Engagement Committee. We hope to plan events that bring the families of ARCAE together and help build a stronger sense of community for everyone. We also hope to promote more community involvement in school activities/events. I also work full-time as a Physician Assistant in Internal Medicine.  I enjoy helping to provide quality care and health education to the community that helped raise me.  When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, being on the water, working in the yard, and listening to music/dancing with my family.  I am looking forward to meeting our wonderful families and connecting with everyone!
